Challenge Theme

Each theme has its own challenge statements, and picking one is required for submission. So choose your favourite, and let's get innovating!

Theme: AI/BI

Welcome to the AI/BI Hackathon, where innovation meets impact! This year, we’re challenging participants to build powerful AI/BI solutions using cutting-edge tools like AI/BI Dashboards, Genie Spaces, Databricks Apps, and platform integrations that offer unified governance, enterprise-grade security, and instant insights at scale. These capabilities unlock the potential for businesses and communities to solve complex Data and AI problems. We are offering TWO submission options for participants, as below. Each theme has its own challenge statements, and picking one is required for submission. So choose your favourite, and let's get innovating!

Challenge Statements

  1. Leverage open data to create an AI BI solution that tackles a social impact issue such as climate change resilience, public health insights, economic inequality analysis, and energy consumption optimisation.

For instance, analyse the accessibility of public healthcare facilities for the elderly by combining datasets on healthcare locations and demographics using Singapore’s open data portal [https://data.gov.sg/]. This project could highlight underserved areas, guiding policy decisions to improve access and quality of care for Singapore’s aging population.

  2. Leverage your own data to solve a real life business problem in a specific industry.

One example is using Databricks’ system tables to track and analyse different teams' consumption costs, enabling more efficient resource management. [https://www.databricks.com/resources/demos/tutorials/governance/system-tables] Another example (for advanced users): Build your AI BI solution into an application using the Databricks Apps, showcasing how integrated tools can deliver end-to-end insights and functionality
